World Changer crews are on site for the third day of construction. Progress is being made at all the sites. We had a GREAT BLOCK PARTY yesterday afternoon…If you attended and I didn’t get to meet you -oops! We enjoyed our time together.

Tomorrow is the final day and tomorrow night is our Closing Celebration at 7:15pm at Winston Foursquare Church (541 SE Main in Winston – corner of Thompson and Main). Please plan on joining us as we celebrate what God is doing to change our world

Pastor Steve

Students are here – check!

Materials delivered – check!

there is a growing sense of enthusiasm as the students and their sponsors are receiving training this evening for the week ahead. Tomorrow – June 28 – students head out to their work sites and begin their projects.

God is on the move in Winston.

Stay tuned for more news.

We are committed to allowing God’s Word to change our world. One of our strategies is inviting students (7th – 12th graders) from all across the US to share a week of their lives with us in construction and maintenance projects for individuals and groups who need just a little assistance. These students (around 80 of them this year) each raise around $300.00 per person to come, sleep on the floor at Winston Middle School, and donate 32 hours of free labor to our community. They are are not because of their skill at construction but because they share our common conviction that God’s love is so massive and so overwhelming as revealed in His Son Jesus Christ. This kind of love must be shared through any and every means possible. – including construction projects, painting, yard cleanup and a variety of other tasks.

So, between June 28 and July 1 watch for “Labor Provided By World Changers” signs throughout our community. Ask one of the students why they are here and listen to their life story. Ask how Jesus Christ can be part of your life story as well. They will be honored to talk with you!

Here is something to think about this Monday morning:

To be content as a result of some external thing is like warming a man’s clothes by the fire. But to be content through an inward disposition of the soul is like the warmth that a man’s clothes have from the natural heat of the body. A man who is healthy in body puts on his clothes, and perhaps at first on a cold morning they feel cold. But after he has had them on a little while they are warm. Now, how did they get warm? They were not near the fire? No, this came from the natural heat of his body.

Burroughs, Jeremiah. The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment (p. 8). . Kindle Edition.

PSALM 20:4 May He (the LORD) give you what your heart desires and fulfill your whole purpose.”

WEDNESDAY DINNER – June 22 5:00pm followed by Bible Study and Prayer!

Look at how great a love the Father has given us that we should be called God’s children. And we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it didn’t know Him.” (1 John 3:1, HCSB)

Whether your earthly father is still alive – or waiting in heaven for you – and even if your earthly father left much to be desired, we have a Father in heaven who calls is His own, His children. The love He continues to give sustains and comforts us in ways we cannot begin to measure

May your Father’s Day be enriched as you contemplate the Father’s love – that we should be called the children of God!
